ENGLANDER FISCHER ANNOUNCES FOUNDING PARTNER ACCOMPLISHMENT
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (May 8, 2013) – Englander Fischer announces that Founding Partner, Leonard S. Englander received The St. Petersburg Bar Association Professionalism Award sponsored by Fifth Third Bank at the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation 2013 Law Day Luncheon on May 3rd, 2013.
This prestigious honor is awarded to a member of the St. Petersburg Bar Association who upholds the standards of the legal profession with dignity, integrity, civility and courtesy; and who demonstrates an ongoing commitment of to public service through both pro bono work and by contributing time and resources to charitable activities within the community. The recipient exemplifies the Creed of Professionalism set by The Florida Bar.
The Honorable Mark Shames presented the award. He was quoted as saying, “He is a man guided by conscience. At a time when some are dismayed by those in our profession, and are perceived as having abandoned principal for profit, professionalism for commercialism; our award winner is an example of professionalism in the practice of law. He is a founding member of the law firm Englander Fischer. He has served as chairman of The Florida Bar’s Business Litigation Certification Committee and The Florida Bar Grievance Committee. In the community he has served the board of CASA (Community Action Stops Abuse), The Menorah Manner Foundation, The Florida Holocaust Museum, Operation PAR, and twice served as President of Temple Beth-El (St. Petersburg, FL.)”
Shames went on to say “On a personal note, I attended law school with this year’s recipient and back in the 80’s we were law partners. I formed the impression back then and I’ve held consistently to this day; he is an extremely competent attorney, a zealous advocate for his clients and a consonant professional.”
